It is governed by EU directive and monitored in the UK by inspection visits carried out by the Medical Control Agency. Data generated in a GLP accredited laboratory is acceptable to drug regulatory authorities worldwide.

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service assesses, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide testing services.
